Marine microbes produce the compounds of the future

In the past years highly active substances have been found in marine microbes. Research on anti-infective compounds has shown that the production of substances by macro-organisms can be attributed mainly to the associated consortia of microorganisms. These microbes synthesize highly active substances to protect themselves and their host against colonization by pathogenic germs. SeaLife collects its marine microbes in the natural habitat, where the microbial community is adapted to the natural situation. The potential in that area is enormous: nearly 95% of marine microbes remain unexplored.

SeaLife Pharma has established all procedures for isolation and fermentation in their own lab to overcome the supply problem.
