Univ. Prof. Dr. Heinz Burgmann

Univ. Prof. Dr. Heinz Burgmann is leading scientist in the department of Internal Medicine I, Div. of Infectious Diseases at the Medical University of Vienna and is Austrias chief expert for resistant microbes. With his research activities and his involvement in several clinical studies, he has gained a comprehensive knowledge in clinical development, with more than 100 publications. Scientific counseling for companies such as Wyeth, Intercell and Baxter together with his knowledge about current resistances helps SeaLife to better locate attractive business opportunities.

Univ. Prof. DDr. Apostolos Georgopoulos

Univ. Prof. DDr. Apostolos Georgopoulos, born 1941, was former Chief of the Dept. of Microbiology at the Medical University in Vienna, Before he headed the Dept. of Development of the Sandoz Research Institute in Vienna. His comprehensive experience in R&D of novel anti-infective substances has led to more than 400 publications and various patents. The academical and industrial background has turned him into one of the leading experts in the field of antibiotics. Mr. Georgopoulos is strongly contributing on SeaLifes screening and development strategy.

Univ. Prof. Dr. Jörg Ott

Univ. Prof. Dr. Jörg Ott is one of the leading marine ecologists in Europe and headed the marine biology department at the University of Vienna/AUT for more than twenty years. His main field of scientific research
is marine ecology, with a focus on benthic systems, sea grass meadows, mangroves, sulphide habitats, meiofauna and symbioses between bacteria and animals. With his experience and his worldwide marine network, Dr. Ott supports the company in the identification of new compounds according to the Ecotargeting approach.

Dr. Erwin Klein

Dr. Klein is a CEO of Easypharm Ltd, an Austrian pharmaceutical company focusing on the commercialization of generic drugs. He is a GP by education and held numerous Director roles in the pharmaceutical industry.
In his last position he was CEO of Novartis Pharma Austria followed by Global Head of Novartis Ophthalmics activities. Access to international pharmaceutical companies and vast knowledge in commercialization should support SeaLife`s growth ambitions.

Mag. Johannes Schwertner

Mag. Schwertner is a co-founder of Easypharm and has a track record of nearly 20 years in the industry.
In his recent assignments he held roles at Novartis and Sandoz, including CFO of the largest Sandoz plant (Kundl/Austria), CFO of the Business Unit Anti-Infectives and Global Head of Business Planning & Analysis at the Sandoz headquarters in Germany. As member of the SeaLife Supervisory Board, Mag. Schwertner challenges the Management Team in all strategic financial decisions and applies his knowledge on antibiotic manufacturing and the supply chain.
